Objectives

1. 40Braids will foster independent film as a medium for addressing critical social, political, and environmental issues and give visibility to women and men filmmakers as models of public engagement through their production of films by and about women.

2. 40Braids will voice the universality of local social, political, and environmental issues as identified by women and articulated by rights activists and peacebuilders, through a network of innovative and safe forums facilitating cultural exposure and debate.

3. 40Braids will amplify women's resilience to war, violence, militarism, extremisms and climate change through sustained transnational cultural dialogue that transcends existing geopolitical power dynamics by brokering new South-South and South-North relationships.
